French Commode Tombeau
An absolutely stunning Early 19th century rosewood marquetry Commode Tombeau from Paris. Formed in the Louis XV 18th century Rococo style with Breccia Aleppo marble top with Corbin beak detail. Ormolu rococo style handles, escutcheons and palmettes. Stamped by the workshop ‘M.Limart’ in all four corners and cabinet maker ‘H J Alivertti’. An original piece in very good condition. Some minor losses to the veneer as shown in the photographs, two very small nicks in the marble (side) Width 125cm depth 61cm height 83cm.
